Become a Recognized Expert, Three Steps

Step 1: Find Your Expertise -Ask yourself what you know or can do. Is there a service you can provide, or a product you can improve on that others have not considered? -Your expertise may not necessarily be your career. Think of what you can do that people find uncommon or incredible. Is there anything that people commonly ask for your assistance with or advice on? Step 2: Write and Publish Articles -By writing articles, you are showing your knowledge in your expertise. When people read what you have written, you expand your credibility. -Submit your articles online, and to local newspapers and publications. At first you may only receive space in the letters to the editor or the opinion-editorial sections, but by placing your name and expertise out there, your credibility increases in the eyes of those around you. -Be persistent, and stay optimistic.
